Archimedes -
Archimedes is probably the greatest and most famous mathematician and inventor of Ancient Greece. Archimedes came up with a way to work out the density of a material while he was taking a bath because of the displacement of the water in his bath when he went in the tub. He had jumped out shouting ‘Eureka!’ and running the streets in excitement! A physical principle called the Archimedes Principle is named after him and the principle explains why heavy objects float. He discovered the law of lever and he figured out the value of pi.
